I'm a little copycat...
…short and stout. (Sorry, it just had to come out. And it actually *is* true.)
In this instance, I’m copying Chris. But don’t worry, he invited me to. Of course, he told me that he’s in actuality copying Lu. So in essence, I’m also copying Lu, who didn’t invite me to copy her, but I’m hoping she won’t mind.
I’m really good at talking without...

50x50--the catching up update
One of my goals for January is to get my 50x50 updates done. I’ve done a few here and there, but I’m not really making a lot of progress. So I decided to just throw them all out there at once. Which means I will try to be very brief in talking about each one.
And hopefully this will be a lesson to me to not let them pile up again.
Goal 16-Bake 50 different kinds of cookies.

I feel like Gray's latest favorite song...
The way he sticks the CD in his player, pulls up his current obsession, and pushes the repeat button.
That’s me. On constant repeat.
“I’ll never find balance. I can’t get it all done. I’m forever letting people down.” Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
It may all be true. But it’s doing me no good to keep this mantra playing through my head on auto-repeat. It only...

photos of a January day
…and some words, too.
So all those high hopes for the new year are beginning to sag a bit. I’m *still* behind on everything—blog reading, emailing, school prep, gift making, 50x50 updates, cleaning…
And yeah, so much for tumbling daily. Oh well. Sure not going to lose any sleep over that one.
But just to prove I’m still alive, here’s some pictures from an...

Finished my first book of 2011 yesterday. Finally. (Actually, I also finished my second book of the year yesterday, but as it’s the second in a trilogy I’ll save talking about it until I finish the last book.)
So, The Erasers by Alain Robbe-Grillet. Read it for the fantasy lecture series we’re using for homeschooling…likely never would have read it otherwise. (You know,...

50x50--Goal 16--6 and 7 down.
Goal 16-Bake 50 different kinds of cookies.
Okay, the cookies to the top left are Snickerdoodles—again I’m going to skip the recipe since these are pretty common fare. Common, but yummy.
But the cookies to the bottom right—well, Christmas would not be Christmas in the Stevens household without Fairy Drops. With the exception of Rich, they are everyone’s favorite...

Goal 47-Watch 50 different seasons of TV on DVD.
With Christmas and being sick so much the last couple months, I sort of got out of the habit of daily exercising (which is when I watch these DVDs), but I still managed to crank out season 4 of Criminal Minds. And luckily, Annie got me season 5 for Christmas (yes, so she can watch it, too :P ), so I’m all set to get back into that daily...

Goal 16-Bake 50 different kinds of cookies.
No Bake Cookies. Again, no need to post the recipe, as I’m guessing most everyone is quite familiar with these little babies. It’s sort of scary to say, but I’ve been making these cookies for 35 years or more. Both my brother and I loved to cook (and eat!) No Bake Cookies when we were kids. And now it’s time to pass on that...
